Therapeutic Drumming
Therapeutic drumming is the use of drums to get in touch with your own emotions, to help experience feelings and emotions from a different perspective.
This could be through expressing yourself differently, through music, rhythm and sound. It’s about taking time out for yourself, and coming away with a deeper understanding and a different energy

I am trained in therapeutic drumming through the Rhythm 2 Recovery programme developed by Simon Faulkner. R2R is a dynamic intervention using the healing power of rhythm, developing human potential through rhythm and reflection and is an evidence-based practice with a client-centred focus. You can read more about the programme on the R2R website
Therapeutic drumming is suitable for anyone. It has traditionally been aimed at vulnerable children or adults. I have found it beneficial for many groups, including for example managers in a health work setting.

I have worked with Ray Watters of DrumWithUs, an experienced drummer, facilitator and counsellor, to bring R2R training to Northern Ireland. Training is aimed at relevant professionals e.g. teachers and care workers and others who work with vulnerable children and adults.
